Dr. Richard P. Cooper, founder and president of NeuroRadiance, has practiced medicine for seventeen years. Originally from Colorado, he has lived in the Columbus area since 2008. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Psychology before returning to Colorado for medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he again graduated magna cum laude.
Dr. Cooper completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he also trained in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. His training included a subspecialty focus in Neuroradiology as well as research, along with rotations at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and Boston Children’s Hospital.
After completing his residency at Dartmouth in 2001, Dr. Cooper pursued fellowship training at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. In 2002, he served in the Peace Corps/Indian Health Service at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Cooper has focused on neuroradiology while broadening his experience in internal medicine. He has received multiple awards for patient care and physician excellence, including recognitions in New Hampshire, New Mexico, Virginia, California, and Ohio. Dr. Cooper was also one of only forty physicians across all specialties in Ohio to receive “Best in Medicine” honors from the American Health Council.
